General Description
electedface is a new social network for politicking. It gives people a voice and a way to connect with their federal, state, and local representatives, criticize or praise them, and discuss various political issues with fellow site members.
I partnered with Dragonfly Interactive to create the back-end engine and functionality behind this exciting concept. After registering, site users are shown officials and candidates representing only their political district. Users have a Facebook-like wall, and ability to send private messages, import contacts from their email address-books, and invite others to join the site. You can vote in support for your favorite politicians, or dislike comments of users and officials. You can view officials’ latest regulatory calendars, and view their bio.
The idea behind electedface was to trigger political conversation, so we also built petition functionality allowing users to create a petition and send it for support to others. The site also has group functionality, and allows registrants to add friends and relatives to their own political network. Users can also purchase books related to a politician directly from electedface. The site has a blog, and a donations engine that allows officials to collect donations to their latest campaign.
